Ecclesiastes
Lily K. Hagge
Hevel, hevel, you lifted up from me,
I wasn’t there ‘cause I was busy, I,
Have time for everything but not to plea.
Rebel, rebel, I’m clean, I’m clear, you’re gone,
But Earth and dissected cats are chronic.
You thought I was pretty ‘cause I was blonde
I think you are ‘cause you’re Miss Universe,
Miss Understood, Miss Taken, Miss Anthropic,
I talk to God, you, God, I remember
Before me or they were created I
Had never felt ambivalent, never
Burned the pavement, lilted the leak,
Talk me down, safe and sound,
Take me down, underground.
